Through the Lock Forcible Entry

Written with firefighters and fire departments in mind, this class covers all aspects of TTL FE and puts them into a single 16 hour class.

This class is designed to teach the principles of Through The Lock Forcible Entry to firefighters interested in both less destructive and non-destructive entry techniques. The class is divided into two portions: Lock theory, construction, and usage in both residential and commercial settings, and the hands-on portion making entry through various locks and locking systems. Skills will be developed using a combination of lecture, video, lab breakout sessions, and manual manipulation.  Emphasis will be placed on lock identification, bypass techniques, both covert and overt entry methods, tools of the trade, special case locks, and specific brand defeats.  The course will conclude with a multi-lock scenario designed to test the student’s retention of the defeat techniques discussed in the class. This is an excellent class to learn and refresh the skills of Through the Lock Forcible Entry, as well as update skill levels with new current techniques dealing with today’s locking systems. Course textbook and tools will be provided, however students are encouraged to bring any TTL FE tools they wish to use during the class. Students attending the course will be awarded several personal TTL FE tools in recognition of their course completion.

NOTE: Due to the sensitive nature of this class and the materials covered ONLY active career and volunteer firefighters (background checked) are allowed to attend.

Time to arrive-

If you are taking an "off-site" class in a community classroom, the doors open 15-30 minutes prior to the start of class. Feel free to come inside, check in, meet the instructor, have a seat, and relax. We want you to be comfortable in the classroom environment. Feel free to bring drinks and snacks. If your class is "on-site" we will be there early and late to be available to students.

Materials needed-
In a word...nothing. 9/11 Training will have all the items you need including books, note-taking materials, pens/pencils, and so on. If you want to bring a notebook that's totally OK, however it certainly isn't required. All training locks and tools will be provided to students, so all you really need to bring is you.

Classroom Locations-

Most classes will be at a predetermined agency area or classroom. In the rare event that class is to be at a different area, students will be advised in plenty of time to make any adjustments. On day two, part of the day will be spent at a remote site(s) learning and working on locks and entry methods.

Time allotted for classes-

This course in in depth! Total length of the course is 16 hours taught over two days. Almost 10 hours of the course is hands on allowing for the assimilation of techniques and training.

Dress/Reasonable Accommodation-

We want you to be comfortable, but the nature of what we do means long pants and boots with a short sleeve shirt at a minimum. Duty uniforms are acceptable as well as civilian attire. You will not need turn-out gear, but will need gloves and eye protection for day two. We WILL be breaking things!

Payment-

Paying for your course is easy! We accept cash, checks, and all major CC's. You can either pay through the website or when you come to class. We do ask that payment be made prior to class beginning so that materials can be procured ahead of time. If your agency is picking up the tab let us know and we will take it from there. If you have any questions, simply contact us and we will do our best to answer them.
